Here is a great site with 17 free eBooks for teachers and parents. Many of them present ways to challenge our students and online tools to improve instruction. There is also information on ways to protect our kids online, such as a parent’s guide to Facebook as well as some alternative sites that have a bit more protection for young users. I spent a bit of time exploring many of these books and found some great stuff…for free!
Here are some activities to keep in mind as we move into winter. There is one on frozen bubbles that almost makes me wish it was below freezing again. I did say “almost”!
You will also find instructions for making a rain gauge. That might come in handy around here very soon. Also information about wind-chill, winter crafts and hail storms.
I found a site with lots of craft ideas for kids. There are some very clever ways to make Christmas decorations using free, recycled items. I might have to try some of these with the grandkids!
There are also crafts for other times of the year linked on their homepage.
